LinkedIn Ultimate Checklist
How do you keep on top of LinkedIn?
Do you have a process or jump on to the platform when you remember?
I always suggest to my clients and workshop attendees that consistency is key and often the response is “If only we a check list as there is so much to remember”
Good point!
So here is that list, a reminder, if you like, of how to purposefully build your LinkedIn presence.
Connect with:
- People you are going to meet online and off before a meeting.
- Relevant people who have viewed your profile.
- Suitable people who have started following you.
- LinkedIn Authors whom you respect for their insightful & relevant views.
- Your Top 10 choices from other social platforms.
- Competitors.
- Other individuals who service a similar client base to you.
The key is in the word RELEVANT don’t waste time connecting with people who have little to offer you and your business.
Build your relationships by:
- Responding to all well-intended messages
- Tapping the bell 🔔 on your prospect’s profile to notify you when they post.
- Take 5 – 10 minutes each day to engage with posts of your inner circle connections.
- Send a personalised welcome message to a new connection.
- Write proactive recommendations for at least one person per month.
- Find relevant conversation starters from your followed prospects’ company page.
Strengthen your relationships by:
- Becoming an ambassador for your clients and promoting their work.
- Helping others demonstrate their expertise by tagging them into certain topic discussions.
- Endorsing 5 connections each week for their top 3 relevant skills.
- Asking your close connections to endorse you for 5 of your most relevant skills.
- Utilise bespoke links and share exclusive content on a direct message basis. Bring them in to your inner circle.
Convert potential customers by:
- Suggesting that people follow your personal hashtag, if you have one, and to ring the bell on your profile
- Inviting connections to sign up for your LinkedIn and / or email newsletters.
- Requesting your satisfied customers write a recommendation on your profile.
- Checking out “recently started to follow your company page” and invite potential decision makers and influences to follow you or connect with you.
